Wilson’s Promontory Escape

Dates:

2017

17th -20th October

If you have a group of friends we who would like to fully book out this trip, let us know and we can arrange a suitable date.

“The Prom”, as it is affectionately known marks the southern-most point of mainland Australia. It overlooks Bass Strait and was first sited by Bass and Flinders in 1798. The Lighthouse and surrounding buildings at Wilson Promontory was built by convict labour and is unique in its “village like” design. Wilsons Prom was first declared a National Park in 1905. Trekking the Prom is a delight in coastal vegetation, rugged and knarled headlands, gorgeous beaches and bays. This trek is a must do for those wanting a challenge as we pack in our supplies for the 50 km out and back route to the Lighthouse. A good days trekking is well rewarded with stunning views into Bass Strait and the opportunity to see a pod of Whales and get up close and personal with the local wombat community.
