Ladies over of all ages and fitness levels are welcome to join our  training group, come trek with us at Mt Coot-tha every SATURDAY MORNING.

Where do we meet? Grey Gums picnic area, Samuel Griffiths Drive, Mt Coot tha

This session combines trek intervals with endurance training and include different “themes” each week including balance, core, upper body strength, and leg strength

HikeFit Express

Where do we meet?  HikeFit Express is taking a break until Summer. We will advise our community closer to the time on the new start date

This session will focus on trek interval training, strength, core and balance


How do I pay?*
You can either pay casually – bring $15 cash per session or purchase a 10 session pass for $130 (As of January 2015). 
*(Please note that there is a 6 month validity for the 10 pass from the first day it is used).

What to Bring for all Sessions
A good pair of training shoes, back pack with water (at least 2 Litres), cap and towel. We can assist you if you require gear referring you to our preferred trek gear suppliers.

Come along and meet some great girls and make a commitment to a training goal that you may have, it will be a really good opportunity to get out there and do something for yourself.

Toowoomba Trekkers

We now have HikeFit training available in Toowoomba. “Toowoomba Trekkers” is available on the middle and last Sunday of the month. This two hour session incorporates interval and endurance training. It is a great way to meet like minded girls and enjoy a great morning’s exercise.

Where do we meet?  Redwood Park, Cnr Bridge and Dudley Street, Toowoomba.

When? Sunday fortnightly – please arrive at 5:45 am (6:00 am start) to 8:00 am .

Trekking Levels

Please note that with our HikeFit programme we will help you achieve these levels of fitness required to undertake our trips. The levels are not required as a starting point to do our trips. We will help you get there!
Level 1 –       Basic level of fitness is required
You can walk 3 days per week for one hour on flat terrain with no difficulty
Level 2 –       Moderate level of fitness is required
You can walk 3 days per week for one hour on hilly terrain with no difficulty
Level 3 –       Good level of fitness
You can walk 4 – 5 days per week on a variety of hills, stairs and flat. You will be able to walk for 3 hours without taking a break carrying at least 5 kgs in a backpack
Level 4 –       Very Good Level of Fitness
You can walk long distances of 3 hour or more a couple of times a week carrying at least 10kgs. You can manage steep terrain as well as tougher climatic conditions (wind/rain/cold)
Level 5 –        Excellent Level of Fitness
You have a regular training programme of endurance and strength training. You can comfortably sustain 6 hour days of walking carrying at least 20 kgs on rough and steep trails.
